Picked up my bike in August and have used these forums for tips and advice and even a warranty problem and decided to join to help out where I could.

I did the mods on my bike myself and my current list is:

  • Akrapovic full exhaust system
  • PowerCommander 5
  • ProTaper Windham 7/8th bars
  • R6 Throttle Tube
  • Vortex Grips
  • K&N Airfilter
  • Integrated MotoDynamic LED Tail light/Blinker combo
  • Flush MotoDynamic LED front blinkers

I'll get some picks uploaded when I can, don't have any imported to the computer as of yet.

So far out of the 3 bikes I've owned and the 8 that I've ridden this has been my favorite bike and I've already racked up about 3k miles in 2 months.

Looking forward to riding with you guys!

edit: added left out mods

Welcome to the club! I'm also a pretty big fan of the 07 after riding and owning numerous bikes. It's just raw fun - just don't expect it to be a touring or track bike in any meaninful way.

Welcome Red,

unfortunately Topaz is a bit right.... 3k? come now you can do better than that :P

This bike can be so many things, there are some on here that have made it a race bike... other who have set it up for cross-country/continent touring.. and then theres the majority of us that just love the MAASSSIVE amounts of torque that it serves up for in-city driving.

Welcome again, try not to get too many speeding tickets, and most importantly.... have fun

If only 3k on the speedo is a rookie... Call me a rookie then.  And I've had mine over a year.

So don't worry how many miles you have on yours.  The only important thing is that you enjoy what miles you put on it. ✌️

That's just this bike, the I had an 883 sportster before it with 8.8k miles from new, and a 250 Ninja with a couple thousand too.

I live in Utah, and the weather has been wonky so it's hard to pick what days to ride right now.

I also had to take the FZ in to the shop because it had the instrument panel backlight go out which meant I could right at night, just dangerously ;)

did they replace the cluster? or was it just a fuse issue?

also, if it wasn't apparent, I was being facetious in the last post... i apologize.

From what I read on these forums when it first started happening there wasn't an option and everyone just has to keep track of the miles. It's unfortunate because it's a known factory defect, but what can you do.

It took about 2 weeks, I think it came from overseas.

It's the quality of the miles that count, not the quantity.  Making memories, having fun, taking in the scenery, etc...

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

@ sorkyah

lol! Are you being facetious again? @DewMan a rookie on bikes???

and another thing, You said, "MAASSSIVE amounts of torque that it serves up for in-city driving." Hearing that drives me nuts, it's like it came from the mouth of a rookie! Imagine John Wayne saying he 'drove' his horse into town. lol! Just messin' with ya.

Welcome RedReaper! Tell us a little about yourself if you don't mind. You said you're going to put up pics of your bike so I don't have to do the standard, "Pics or it didn't happen". Stay frosty out there, there's a goob on every block!

Hey Beemer, thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm 23 and a techie for a big computer company and I don't mind answering any computer questions that I can. Other than my day job I'm just your average hooligan haha.

Grabbed a pic, but I need to get a newer one since this was before the bar swap.

Missed this, but oh so true. Put 1000 miles on my bike just riding to a small town where my best friend lives and crusing the canyons then coming home.
