Because I am not impressed with a 1200 cc bike needing to be clutched to do a wheelie. I get called a poser by a guy that rides a r1 limited and uses r1limited as his form name so that everyone on the internet will know that he has a r1. Funny as hell.

Funny stuff but I think you were a little too quick on the assumption that the bike can't power wheelie just because it was clutched up in the video. 😉

The short frame on that bike I promise it will wheelie up no probs.  This could be an FZ-09 killer.

Guys on lil 689 cc bikes shouldn't throw stones at this bike, cause I think it will beat the FZ07 in every category but price.

I did not assume that the bike can't do a power wheelie or that it can only wheelie with the clutch. I only commented on the video. I noticed it and thought others might not - all I did was point it out.

I thought it was lame (yawn) for Indian to show its new bad ass bike doing a wheelie after it is clutched up. Do you agree? I expect the 1200 will wheelie on throttle only.

I think the ftr is going to be a really nice bike. I can't wait for the motorcycle shows and tests of the new models. 19 should be a good year.

Being a guy on a little 689 and the former owner of a littler 675. I will say that I would love to test the new FTR against my old 675.

It really does not matter. It's (ftr) a great looking bike and I bet it will be fun to ride. I hope it's as good of a bike as it looks. In the under, over, under. I hope it's under 440 lbs, over 110 hp and under 15k ( by a few hundred or a thousand  not just  5 ).

Ha, I get it now since you put it that way. When you said the biked 'needs" to be clutched to do a wheelie it looked like you meant …. the bike needs to be clutched to do a wheelie! 😆 Funny how one word can change the whole meaning of something.

Here is the catch, either Brad the Bullet Baker or Jarod Meese was riding that bike in the video.  So I will continue with Yoda

LIB! It looks like it has a little length on the swingarm. Could it be it's a male bike vs the typical female bike or is it possibly gender neutral??? 😜 That would be a first.

Look man, how dare you bring politics into this post, how dare you man,  "Disclaimer" JOKE

Besides please refer the mentally confused who cannot figure out if them is ballsbearings and swinging arm or binary 0's and 1's

and if you think about it being binary is offensive to as 0 emulates a hole (aka van gina) and a 1 emulates a weenie

I would bet the FTR will not be a test ride candidate.  One of them show me da money and you can test ride it all you want.

Here is the Live Link, it is off line for now, but will be online today :)

Looks like a nice performance bike.  Same engine as the scout, but much higher compression ratio, and 40 lbs lighter with 20 more horsepower.  Also has a chain instead of a belt.  I will stick with my fz-07.

Out of the box it has a lot of potential.  Simply an exhaust, removal of fender tail light IMO will improve this to be way closer to the prototype,  ECU flash since no specs are really available, I would bet with 1k you can have one hell of a fun bike.

Comparing this with the 07 is like comparing a a dead squashed dog on the road to a flying eagle.  IMO only a nincompoop would attempt a comparison.

Drat...I really like that.  Lighter then I expected and except for the exhaust it looks great.  And there is a dealership in the next town.  I will have to stop by to look at it (and hopefully ride it) and try to stop myself buying one.

Hoping to see it at Motoplex in Lynwood soon.  Specs are decent 120 HP, Brembos, 19/18 tires (Swapping to a 19 rear will make a huge diff) with DT3 style rubber, them things wont last LOL.

Pics are one thing, visual and setting your butt down on one is another....

Sounds it may have a slipper in it as well and at 12,999 it is a pretty impressive package.  Time will tell.

I was looking at the S model.  I like the instrumentation on it, although the analog gauges of the non-S probably fit better with the looks.  I am not sure if a 3.4 gallon tank is a deal breaker.  Our 3.7 gallon tank is too small and with a 1200 cc engine you will just be going from gas station to gas station.

I think I would agree with the general observation from MC.  I would be more intersted in real world ride thoughts and impressions.  If you were to compare this to the XR1200 attempt promised by HD, I think Indian hit closer to the mark.  I did not expect a die in the wool, hands down out of the crate 1200 cc GNC spec'd dirt tracker.  I did expect something a little closer to the concept bike.  But if you look at it closely IMO that concpet bike is hidden under all the Goobly Goop and can easily be revealed
