How do I put get bar end mirrors into Protapers?

Question maybe you can help me with.

How do I get bar end mirrors onto Protaper bars? The stock bars are threaded and my protapers are not. They have this lil plastic black plug where a hole should be. Do I have to drill/pluck that out?

Protaper SE bars aren’t threaded like the stock bars, they just have that black plug to keep dirt/water out. I’m not completely sure but it looks like the bar ends you’re looking at may just clamp onto the outside of the bar? If so, you would just scoot the grips in little bit so you have room to clamp that bar end mirror on. If they insert, you can pop that black plug out and they should have some sort of friction as you tighten a bolt to lock into the inside of the bar. Some bar end mirrors that insert don’t fit MX style bars, but you can get this set that fit in to lock them on if the ones you got don’t fit. It’s just the bolts and the angled nuts/washers to lock the bar end on. Here’s the link to that set if they don’t fit.

pop out the plastic end plugs with pliers, yes they just come out that easy.  then mount your mirrors.
