AlbatrossCafe
CURRENT MPG CHAMP: AlbatrossCafe - 58.2 MPG CURRENT RANGE CHAMP: AlbatrossCafe - 207.5 miles I feel like it would be fun to see who is the best at two things: Highest MPG Longest range RULES: Everything must be calculated over one full tank No external gas sources (e.g. extra bottle, gas can) may be used Display must be reset ONLY at the beginning of tank You must AT LEAST reach the reserve mark tank before you can be judged for MPG We will use indicated MPG because there is too much discrepancy between different pumps or how people fill their tanks Pics or it didn't happen! Post in the following format: Total miles: Reserve miles: Gallons Gas used: Indicated MPG: Calculated MPG: MPG factors: This competition is tough because riding so restrained on this bike is a VERY difficult task! And BTW, if your MPG is "94.2" we all know you're lying! lol Dual headlights or deathhttp://fz07.org/thread/5384/albatrosscafes-galleryhttp://fz07.org/thread/5174/dual-headlight-upgrade-completed
AlbatrossCafe
I'll start, but I know I can be beat! Total miles: 207.5 Reserve miles: 40.9 Gallons Gas used: 3.346 Indicated MPG: 58.2 Calculated MPG: 62.01 MPG factors: Commuted 50 miles (90% highway) for 4 days. Positives are summer blend gas, ECU flash + Akra carbon exhaust, and self control. Negatives are that I'm 6'2" 220lbs with no windscreen. I feel like I could have gone another 5 miles or so. I am pretty sure I have put in 3.4+ gallons before. Wasn't sputtering yet haha Dual headlights or deathhttp://fz07.org/thread/5384/albatrosscafes-galleryhttp://fz07.org/thread/5174/dual-headlight-upgrade-completed

robbo10
Now, if our good friend, Cruizin, could show their region for each member, we would straight away know if we are dealing with US or Imperial gallons. Would anyone object? (or have I missed something?). Just do it!
faffi
Since most members are US-based it seems sensible to only us mpgUS.

faffi
Sitting at a steady 40 mph in 6th gear on a very level ground with no wind and tyres pumped to 36/42 PSI should provide figures around 90 mpg, I reckon.

dmoney
450.0km (279.6 miles) would not have made it to 280 88.9km in the reserve (55.2 miles) Indicated economy 3.2l/100km Calculated economy 3.102l/100km Petrol used 13.96l ( used BP 98) Probably 450km of the most boring riding ever but the old girl did it. Engine started missing the last couple km but she made it to the petrol station on 449.9 so i had to do a little lap of it to get to 450 even. No highway riding. About 10km of two up. Bike is pretty much stock except for akra carbon and yamaha sports screen. I weigh 315lbs with full gear. Will try and add all the pics to this post but my laptop is dead and my phone camera is playing up so apologies in advance if it takes a million posts. Global Moderator mjh937 Posted July 9, 2018 Global Moderator Share Posted July 9, 2018 They will not let you photograph the fuel pump, @dmoney? Are they afraid the competing gas station will learn some secrets?
dmoney
Nope. As soon as i got my phone out to try there was an announcement over their PA system saying 'the person at pump 6, please put your phone away'. Something to do with safety and the pump blowing up. Thats why i took the receipt. You think thats bad, try filling up wearing your helmet. They go nuts
