Darren Houldsworth
Hey, does anyone have the OEM larger windscreen installed? Lots of searches show every other brand except the Yamaha one. Could someone post some more pictures of it installed? Also, does anyone have the installation instructions? It looks like you have to take off the top fork mount bolt? Thanks! Global Moderator mjh937 Posted May 4, 2018 Global Moderator Share Posted May 4, 2018 It looks like it mounts the same way as the smaller Yamaha one I have. You replace the top fork bolts with longer ones that come with the screen. It is easy to do.
Duke
Welcome to the forums! Yeah it's pretty simple to install windscreens. Just need a set of allen wrenches and the instructions that come with it should get you on track. Now about that $302.95 price tag... Daaaang! I don't intend to offend but why spend so much on a windscreen? You do you and I'll do me.
Premium Member noodles Posted May 4, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted May 4, 2018 looks a lot like the Givi screen I have, which is like $120, except that uses/replaces the bolts that hold on the top of the headlamp assembly and the turn signals - really easy, works well so i would expect the same w/ this .. his face seems pulled and tenselike he's riding on a motorbike in the strongest winds

I'm investigating now to see how they look and mount, etc. I went with the Yamaha luggage rack instead of Givi or Shad because I think it looks nicer both with and without a case on it. It was more expensive, and I did have to cut the plastic (took my time...), but in the end I think it looks nicer with the lines of the bike. Same with the Yamaha windscreen, I like the look a bit better, and a lot of times the OEM stuff is designed for the bike, and not a generic piece with an adapter for the bike. I do like the Givi screen and handguards though...
