fredric57
Got a 2016 fz 07 with 2,000mi. The rear wheel bearing just started making noise and oozing grease by the rear sprocket. Has anyone else had this problem or know what the issue is if it wasn't the bearing?
markstertt
The drive side sprocket carrier has a single deep groove ball bearing with a spacer/ reducer to reduce the ID to axle diameter and carry the stack up thru to the inner lt. side wheel bearing, outboard is the grease seal and wheel spacer...easy to diagnose once you pull the rear wheel. You could have a bad bearing or loose bearing in hub or even loose bearing to spacer/reducer, I haven't seen this on my -07 but have found some discrepancies back there. If your axle nut is tight and wheel alignment and chain tension looks good, then you'll likely want to pull the rear wheel and look. I'll be real interested in what you find...good luck.
