Lone connector under passenger seat

While I was installing my new taillight I noticed a connector that wasn't plugged into anything and had a protective rubber cover on it. It's a 4-wire connector. Any idea what it's for? I looked through the owner's manual but didn't see anything regarding extra connections apart from the 12V plug under the tank plastics.

I am just guessing here but… Maybe it is for one of those big cargo boxes you can mount to the back. The ones with tail, brake, running, or blinker lights.       Another thought…. a plug for the dealer to plug in a diagnostic tool….

It does seem odd that it is not mentioned in the owners manual when it is so conspicuous. @YZEtc is right about it.

It's definitely the Yamaha diagnostic tool coupler. Says so right in the service manual

Well that's great for those that have them.
