I just spoke with Shrike and they gave me the following clarifications

No discount code needed as long as they reference FZ07.org when they contact us.  Both configurations will work with a fender eliminator, but the high mount is an option only if the rider also has modified (smaller) turn signals.

These mounts are the best. Very sturdy, and the bags are very good as well. I cannot recommend this company enough, and very good people running it!

Commuting to work or going on a long road trip, these are the bags for your FZ-07. Because backpacks suck!

I love the concept on this product. Very innovative and seem well reviewed.

I don't tour much and when I do, I just chuck everything in a backpack and use that as a tank bag. If I need camping stuff on the back I just strap it down to the seat.

What kind of stuff do people put in panniers that small typically?

Do you ever go to the market and buy stuff? Take lunch and stuff to work? Go riding and want to bring rain gear?

Weekend trips and dont want to wear a heavy backpack?

Are there any comparison pictures showing the difference between the "high" and "low" mount bags?

As a vendor/company, they are usually pretty busy at their business and might miss your question. To get someones attention, type an @ before their username.   Like this @shrike1   They will then get a notification, and come see your question, unless they turned their notification settings to off.

Or, just email them directly ShrikeMounts@gmail.com

Hi @Randucci Here are some Shrike Mounts luggage system pics for the two FZ-07 configurations.

The high mount is what is currently shown on our website www.ShrikeMounts.com.  It's the original configuration for stock FZ-07's, and it should also work with most variations of fender eliminator with smaller turn signals.  We think it's got a nice, clean look.   This system is currently on sale, while supplies last.

The low mount system moves the bags a little lower on the bike.   This configuration was originally designed for bikes that have a fender eliminator and larger turn signals such as the OEM signals.  (It's also suitable for all of other typical FZ-07 setups that we've seen.)  The low mount’s advantage is that it has a cleaner mechanism for locking the system to the peg, and we anticipate moving exclusively to this configuration for all FZ-07's long-term.

Any questions, feel free to contact us at ShrikeMounts@gmail.com.  And free shipping applies for FZ07.org references, through July 27, 2018.  Thanks!

Hi @topazsparrow.  The bags get kind of addictive.  I always carry extra earplugs, water, a rag to clean my visor, etc.  I can get a surprising amount of groceries and stuff in the bags, and I also always carry a cinch type backpack in the bags, just in case I need a little extra space.  I think the utility of them may depend what you use your bike for.  I use my bike every day I can in the summer, so the extra space is nice to have for errands and for always having the little stuff that makes riding easier handy.   Just my $0.02 - lots of ways to make riding work.

Safe riding!  James

Just ordered the Shrike HIgh Configuration today... looking fwd to getting them installed and giving my feedback. I had given up on anything other than my Ogio tailbag as I could not find something that seemed quite right for what I wanted (price, hardware, looks, etc) - these seem to be spot on.

The Ogio bag is great by the way but limited for space. These Shrike bags will allow me to keep all my "just in case" crap onboard at all times... rain gear, tire repair kit, riding glasses, rag, extra ear plugs, wind breaker, gloves, big ziplock bags.... stuff that is not necessary but nice to know you have available - and I will still have space to stop by the store to pick up a few things when needed.

I've had these bags since they were introduced for the FZ-07 and found their construction and dealer communication exemplary. At first look, I was surprised at the smallish size but once mounted and filled with gear etc. for a 2-3 day trip, I found them to be perfect for my needs especially when combined with a small expanding tail bag. I would buy again and only wish I had more time to pack them full and go for weekend trips.
